Ben Glaetzer班‧格萊佐,出身於釀酒世家,30歲時就被Robert Parker欽點為年度風雲釀酒師,如同千里馬遇見伯樂,也是Parker認為現今澳洲最好的天才釀酒師。Ben Glaetzer除了擔任格萊佐酒莊的釀酒工作外,他同時也是赫蘭酒莊(Heartland)與米多羅酒莊(Mitolo)的總監與釀酒師。
父親Colin Glaetzer深信偉大葡萄酒必來自於風土的本身條件,於是在Ebenezer區選擇了當地老農種植的百年Shiraz老藤,以最天然的方式釀酒,最後在Ben Glaetzer手上得到世人的肯定。
Bishop 自2006年起更新標籤為「金星Venus」的圖案,剛好也可稱為是維納斯象徵~代表女權與女性的能量。這是The Bishop第9個年份,這款作品酒體醇厚飽滿,主要採用Ebenezer地區60年老藤的果實,加上部份80年老藤產出的葡萄釀製,風味上更加直接、醇美。
暗紫紅色調,摩卡咖啡和甘草香氣,帶有黑醋栗與皮革的味道,柔順的單寧入口時可以感覺到淡淡的法國橡木風味,加深酒本身複雜細緻的深度。Bishop是Ben Glaetzer媽媽Judith的娘家姓氏。

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Bishop opens with black fruits and plums notes followed by nuances of dark chocolate, coffee and salami. Full-bodied and concentrated, it is big, solid and muscular with lively acidity, medium-firm, grainy tannins and a long, chocolaty finish. Drink it now to 2019+.
